Summer Lovin': High Street Favourites #11

Happy Tuesday!
So on this extremely dull summers day I thought there's nothing like a bit of online shopping to help ease the harsh reality that our summer may of already come and gone! For those of you who aren't from the UK we get about 5 or 6 days of hot weather here which for me is enough, my body has become immune to the cold hence my love for anything autumnal! I'm all for the baggy jumpers, black jeans and a sassy little hat and scarf combo to get me on my way.  Looking out of my living room window right now is making me ridiculously envious of you lucky little buggers going away this summer so I thought I'd get back into the swing of things with another high street favourites post for ya'll!

Paisley Midi Skirt - River Island
Khaki Sleeveless Blazer - New Look
Khaki Wrap Cami - Miss Selfridge
Cat Eye Sunglasses - Miss Guided
Pointed Snake Skin Heels - Public Desire
Rounded Shoulder Bag - H&M
Printed Tote Bag - River Island

If any of you know me you'll know I'm not a big advocate of colour in my wardrobe even though I try and try.. hence the not so bright summer colours! I'd say these picks are definitely for a summers evening or when that make believe of mine boyfriend takes mefor a romantic meal on the sea front..
That paisley skirt just gives me shivers up my spine thinking about my love for it!

Hope i've given you a lil' help with choosing some pieces for your summer wardrobe.

Bye now! xxx

Autumn Travels!

If you're getting your popcorn out for a post about fashion put it away darling because I'm in the mood for a little chat haha!
I thought I'd just do a quick update on what's been happening in the past few weeks!
So the weekend just gone I went to visit my pal Sam (hey Sam!!) in Edinburgh and ohhhh my FRICKING god if you haven't been before like me, GO. It's up there in the top 5 picturesque cities i've ever been to, especially in the winter with the pink skies and frosty wind, it's just beautiful! They have little dainty shops which sell the most adorable antique jewellery and keepsakes which were just right up my street! And.. what with me being the big tartan lover than I am, I was in heaven haha! There was at least 3 or 4 tartan or cashmere shops on every row down the mile as well as about a gazillion whisky shops! Of course I picked myself up a box of traditional Scottish shortbread biscuits as well.
(you could say that it was just all in all a good weekend!)
And my favourite photo from the whole trip.. I made it my mission to get a photo with a man in a kilt & did I succeed? Why yes, with a little help from my friend Jade!

2 days after I returned home from Scotland I got a phone call off my cousin asking if I wanted to go down to London for the day while he had an audition, I couldn't say no to a little Oxford Streret shopping on my day off now could I! So half 7 in the morning we hopped on our coach for the brutal 6 hour journey down to London, if only you could've saw the two of us.. fast asleep with our heads back, catching flies haha! I'm writing this blog post waiting for the coach back now, and I couldn't even begin to tell you all how much I'm dreading it. So anyway, I'm always partial to a little shop here and there and with payday only 2 days away I thought whyyyyy the hell not!?!? Come at me Victoria's Secret!! And I also finally got to experience the beauty that is 'Liberty of London', I've walked past there so many times before but I've never actually went in but i had a little time to kill so I dragged my cousin in and we had a look round! I didn't actually realise how expensive half the things in there was but I treated myself and seeing as it's Christmas I picked up a little decoration for my tree as a reminder of the day!

I would definitely recommend going at this time of the year especially if you're lacking a little with the Christmas spirit! All the lights made me feel so festive and it just got me even more excited! The lights on Regent Street, Oxford Street and Carnaby Street looked amazing and I couldn't even begin to tell you how magical Selfridges looked.

The following week I returned to London with an exciting trip to the Warner Brothers Studios for a tour of the Harry Potter set! And my oh my it was amazing, my childhood was brought to life right before my eyes and I couldn't have been more happy. Don't get me wrong it sort of, well I wouldn't say ruined but the films sort of lost that spark about them now that I know everything wasn't as magical as it seemed on screen haha, but i'd definitely recommend it if you're a huge Harry Potter geek like me! Here's a little inside to the tour, I went whilst it was Christmas time and the Great Hall was decorated with holly reefs, trees, plastic turkeys on the tables and a flaming Christmas pudding. So if you're planning on going in the next few days/weeks you'll see the beauty that is Hogwarts in the snow!

brace yourselves..

AMAZING ISNT IT??
My childhood brought to life!

That's all for this post anyway, I hope you've enjoyed it! Keep an eye out for more Christmassy posts coming soon, including a homemade Nutella hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows created by yours truly!

Bye now! Xxx

p.s. I don't know why the fonts are different on this post, my computers going a little cray cray!

Gift Guide #1: Gifts under £15 for her!

Nothing like a double blog post on a Sunday evening!
Told you all I'd be over-doing it on the Christmas posts this month..
If like me and you're completely and utterly hopeless with finding gifts for your friends then this post will be incredibly helpful (i hope!) Last year I was helped by videos from the lovely Fleur De Force, I literally bought near enough everything I saw on her videos for my mum, dad, sister and some of my friends so maybe, just maybe I could help you lot if you're a bit stuck on what to get! The majority of these I'd class as stocking fillers (mostly for beauty lovers) which to me, I think are so much better than one big present.
BONUS: they're all under £15 so nothing too pricey!

Mini Nivea Treats Bauble - Superdrug
Mushroom Mug - Topshop
Essie Duo Kit - Boots
'The Jolly Lippy Lolly' - The Body Shop
Lipstick Pyramid - Topshop
Revlotuion 144 Eyeshadow Collection - Superdrug
Soap and Glory Bauble - Boots
Zoella Beauty Bag - Feel Unique
MAC Lipstick - MAC
(yes I know they're £15.50 but still, 50 pence can't hurt!)

So there you go. Fingers crossed I've helped a little if any of you were getting a bit stuck on what you can buy for a friend or family member! I know I'd be so happy if I received these as gifts!

#ZoellaBeauty

Well well well.. I know I'm a little behind on the bandwagon but holy jesus.. how amazing is the Zoella Beauty range! Now, I've watched practically every single one of Zoes videos from the beginning to end, I've grown to love her and I couldn't be happier for one person than what I am for her! As soon as I heard she was releasing new products I was itching to get my hands on them.
Recently, I went into my local Superdrug here in Liverpool to find empty shelves?? WHAT? safe to say I was disappointed but ridiculously happy for her! So I opted for the online option.
(praise Jesus, Mary and Joseph for Feel Unique and Superdrug online!)

I thought I'd buy a few little bits and bobs from the range and see if they lived up to my expectations and I'm over the moon to say that they did! I bought the candle and the body fragrance just because I do love a good candle (who doesn't?) and the perfume smelt amazing! I'm not normally one for lotions and bath thingymajigs thanks to my sensitive skin, so I opted for the products I'd probably use the most. I honestly would recommend these for anyone even if it's for yourself or to give as gifts, they make adorable little stocking fillers for Christmas as well..
(a big thanks to my cousin Beth for lending her camera!)

Get yourself some treats Here and Here, but be quick because they're selling out fast!

Let me know if you've bought anything from the #ZoellaBeauty range!

The Perfect Winter Boots!

First of all, apologies for the lack of posts recently..
Secondly, ITS FINALLY BECOMING WINTER!!
I don't know if any of you can see how excited I am through this post by the amount of capital letters and exclamation points I'll probably be using but I am seriously so happy that the temperatures dropping, the hats and scarfs and coming out and soon.. the Christmas markets will be here! HALLELUJAH :D

My favourite thing to change around autumn/winter is the fashion.. now we all need good sturdy pair of shoes that aren't going to send us flying! And luckily for you all, I've found them in none other than Primark for a good old £15! They are seriously so comfy and also, they give a little bit of height and best of all you can wear them in the day time as well as the night time.. what more could you want? heelllooooo..

I'd say the only bad thing is that they may not be waterproof but who needs dry toes when you've got slipper socks to throw on under them? JOKES.
So, all joking aside.. I bought them recently so they should still have them in stock!

Happy shopping! Let me know what your go to shoes are for the winter.

My Autumn Staples 2014

Hello again beautifuls!
Wellllll guess who's back! This time with my autumn staples for this year. This post was inspired by a recent shopping spree (oopsy) when I went it into Liverpool City Centre with my cousin. I may of slightly ventured into the shops on Church Street and picked up a few things for my a/w wardrobe! eeeepp

My first staple is definitely polar necks. Now, I don't mean the polar necks that are wrinkled around your neck and come up to your chin. I bought this gorgeous ribbed striped top from Forever 21 for a wonder £10.50 & I absolutely love it! It's slightly cropped so I've decided on wearing it like the model >> with some high waist black jeans or maybe a black skater skirt, black tights and a pair of ballet pumps. I think this style of top is going to be huge this season, I mean you can never have enough stripey tops and polar necks in your life can you!?
If you want this for your a/w wardrobe, get it - Here.

My next staple has got to be a good old sturdy pair of boots! I've been searching the high street for a proper pair that won't break the second I step out the door and also ones that will go with practically everything! I come across these little beauties from New Look, sadly I haven't bought them yet but come my next pay day they'll be mine *cue the evil laugh*
Now they are plain, but I can definitely see them bringing an outfit together! If you fancy buying them for a delightful £29.99, get them - Here!

Well you're going to need a new bag for the new season, it's only right! I find myself around autumn/winter looking at over-sized slouchy bags to go with my baggy top, skinny jeans and my 'I don't care, I'm cosey' type of look. It's hard to find a bag that you won't get annoyed carrying round which is the case with most bags :(
Which is why I'm still searching for the perfect one. Don't you worry though, oh no! I've got my eye on what I think is a perfect bag for autumn/winter and that is this b-e-a-utiful tan bag courtesy of River Island! The best thing is, it's only £32, and for me.. that's a bargain! If you're searching for a new bag and want this one, get it - Here!

If you don't own a baggy jumper to help you through the cold months then you're doing this whole thing wrong! Now it is hard to find one that won't irritate you and make you want to pull your birthday suit off which is why I always go for a ribbed knitted jumper that won't make me itch! I've been looking at this one for a few days now and decided that it's definitely one for my winter wardrobe. The color is on point and it would go so effortlessly with a pair of black skinny jeans and those black boots!
(You'll start to see a theme in my posts that through winter I loves me my black skinnies!)
Where else are you going to find a good quality jumper that won't cost you an arm and a leg, why.. none other than Topshop! Get this jumper Here for £38 :)

Last but not certainly not least, probably my favorite part of an autumn outfit.. a good old dark lipstick to tie it all together! I've currently been loving 'Twig' by MAC (I wrote a review here if you'd like to have a nose) but it's not dark enough for my liking! Last year my favorite lipstick for this season was probably 'The Damned' or 'Inhibition' by Topshop so if I fail to find one that matches those, they'll be getting re-purchased for this year! Now normally I don't really suit berry type of colors and red-ish tones but I'm trying my hardest to step out of my comfort zone but it's definitely proving more difficult than I thought! My mum always says.. 'stick to what you know'.

Let me know your autumn/winter staples below!

Lifestyle | DIY: Fruit Infused Drinks!

Back again..
Since my post about exercise and healthy eating I've been trying to think of different ways that will make me more interested in drinking water. I come across a website with a lot of different recipes on healthy food and drinks that are simple and easy to make - ENJOY!
I thought I'd show you all how I made this fruity drink in a few simple steps..

Okay so you need to decide what fruit/ingredients you want to have in your drink. I went for strawberries and lime which are 2 of my favourite scents and tastes, I absolutely love them! So after I chose these I poured tonic water into my adorable glass, courtesy of Primark and added the ingredients. I then stirred them together and put tinfoil over the top and left it in the fridge over night so that the flavors could merge together!

It's safe to say.. I am in love. It's ridiculous. I think I've found my new favourite drink and the best thing about it is that IT'S HEALTHY!! You literally couldn't want anymore. After avoiding drinking water I have't stopped especially since it tastes like this.
I'm all for natural ingredients and no artificial colors or preservatives so these were perfect for me! I think I'm definitely going to branch out on my ingredients and my next will Cucumber and Mint me thinks so keep an eye out for an updated post!

Let me know if you make one yourself & what flavor you created!

Tartan Scarf - River Island
Orange Wrap Crop Top - New Look
Ripped Jamie Jeans - Topshop

BACK TO SCHOOL! High Street Favorites #5

Welcome back!

Can I just say, It's fricking September? W H A T How is that even possible??
I would do anything to be able to say "I go back to school this week", trust me.. growing up isn't all that fun! Instead it's all "urgh I'm in work this week".
So seeing as some of you lucky people are going back this week I thought I'd put together my school essentials for those of you starting college or sixth form, just because most of them allow you to wear your own clothes! Just a quick reminder as well, don't over-do it on the whole 'IM FINALLY ALLOWED TO WEAR MAKEUP TO SCHOOL' thing because trust me, you'll be bored after about 2 days when you're having to wake up like 30/40 minutes earlier just to make yourself look presentable, me personally.. I'd rather spend those precious minutes in bed!

High Waisted Jeans - Miss Guided
Black Boots - River Island
Green Tote Bag - New Look
Black Raglan Top - Topshop
White Slogan Jumper - River Island
Khaki Parker - New Look
Skater Shoes - BooHoo
Black Running Trainers - River Island

Hope you've enjoyed this post and remember school isn't the worst thing in the world haha! Let me know what you're planning on wearing for your return to college or sixth form.
