Summer Lovin': High Street Favourites #11

Happy Tuesday!

So on this extremely dull summers day I thought there's nothing like a bit of online shopping to help ease the harsh reality that our summer may of already come and gone! For those of you who aren't from the UK we get about 5 or 6 days of hot weather here which for me is enough, my body has become immune to the cold hence my love for anything autumnal! I'm all for the baggy jumpers, black jeans and a sassy little hat and scarf combo to get me on my way.  Looking out of my living room window right now is making me ridiculously envious of you lucky little buggers going away this summer so I thought I'd get back into the swing of things with another high street favourites post for ya'll!

If any of you know me you'll know I'm not a big advocate of colour in my wardrobe even though I try and try.. hence the not so bright summer colours! I'd say these picks are definitely for a summers evening or when that make believe of mine boyfriend takes mefor a romantic meal on the sea front..

That paisley skirt just gives me shivers up my spine thinking about my love for it!

Autumn Travels!

If you're getting your popcorn out for a post about fashion put it away darling because I'm in the mood for a little chat haha!

I thought I'd just do a quick update on what's been happening in the past few weeks! 

So the weekend just gone I went to visit my pal Sam (hey Sam!!) in Edinburgh and ohhhh my FRICKING god if you haven't been before like me, GO. It's up there in the top 5 picturesque cities i've ever been to, especially in the winter with the pink skies and frosty wind, it's just beautiful! They have little dainty shops which sell the most adorable antique jewellery and keepsakes which were just right up my street! And.. what with me being the big tartan lover than I am, I was in heaven haha! There was at least 3 or 4 tartan or cashmere shops on every row down the mile as well as about a gazillion whisky shops! Of course I picked myself up a box of traditional Scottish shortbread biscuits as well.

(you could say that it was just all in all a good weekend!)

And my favourite photo from the whole trip.. I made it my mission to get a photo with a man in a kilt & did I succeed? Why yes, with a little help from my friend Jade!

2 days after I returned home from Scotland I got a phone call off my cousin asking if I wanted to go down to London for the day while he had an audition, I couldn't say no to a little Oxford Streret shopping on my day off now could I! So half 7 in the morning we hopped on our coach for the brutal 6 hour journey down to London, if only you could've saw the two of us.. fast asleep with our heads back, catching flies haha! I'm writing this blog post waiting for the coach back now, and I couldn't even begin to tell you all how much I'm dreading it. So anyway, I'm always partial to a little shop here and there and with payday only 2 days away I thought whyyyyy the hell not!?!? Come at me Victoria's Secret!! And I also finally got to experience the beauty that is 'Liberty of London', I've walked past there so many times before but I've never actually went in but i had a little time to kill so I dragged my cousin in and we had a look round! I didn't actually realise how expensive half the things in there was but I treated myself and seeing as it's Christmas I picked up a little decoration for my tree as a reminder of the day! 

I would definitely recommend going at this time of the year especially if you're lacking a little with the Christmas spirit! All the lights made me feel so festive and it just got me even more excited! The lights on Regent Street, Oxford Street and Carnaby Street looked amazing and I couldn't even begin to tell you how magical Selfridges looked. 

The following week I returned to London with an exciting trip to the Warner Brothers Studios for a tour of the Harry Potter set! And my oh my it was amazing, my childhood was brought to life right before my eyes and I couldn't have been more happy. Don't get me wrong it sort of, well I wouldn't say ruined but the films sort of lost that spark about them now that I know everything wasn't as magical as it seemed on screen haha, but i'd definitely recommend it if you're a huge Harry Potter geek like me! Here's a little inside to the tour, I went whilst it was Christmas time and the Great Hall was decorated with holly reefs, trees, plastic turkeys on the tables and a flaming Christmas pudding. So if you're planning on going in the next few days/weeks you'll see the beauty that is Hogwarts in the snow!

Winter Waves!

Ello! Ello! Ello!
On a recent shopping trip to Boots I picked up a new curling wand for my hair. Now, I'm not really one for doing much to my hair, I don't have the patience to sit in front of the mirror for hours curling piece by piece and I've never actually used a wand on my hair before but oh my lorrrrrrrd have I been missing out haha!

They're so easy to use and literally take around 10 minutes to make you look like a completely different person. I felt like Beyonce in Austin Powers with a huge afro.. obviously mine wasn't as big as hers but you feel me! 

So I thought I'd do a step by step to show you how I went from my natural boring hair to these gorgeous effortless waves, let's go shall we..

1. First, pull all your hair back into a tight-ish pony at the back of your head.
2. Start by sectioning your hair into smaller pieces.
3. Then take each part and wrap it round the wand, hold it there for around 10-15 second! NOTE: not too long though, you don't wanna end up like that girl whose hair fell off!!
4. Keep repeating this until all the pony is curled.
5. Once all your hair is curled, take the bobble out and run your fingers through your hair.
(don't be too intense with this step, you don't wanna end up with an afro!)
6. When you're happy with how the curls look spray them with hairspray and scrunch your hair up to make sure the curls stay in! 
(don't worry if they're really tight right now, they'll drop throughout the day!)
7. Finally, style them how you wish!

(this was later on in the day so the curls had dropped!)

And you've got your finished product! I loooooove having curly hair, it makes me look so much older and I think it really adds something to your look even though it only took 10 minutes! There's just something about girls who can work the 'effortless' look, if you're one of those girls.. I ENVY YOU. I prefer the looser waves rather than the tight curly one, I don't really enjoy looking like a poodle!

BACK TO SCHOOL! High Street Favorites #5

Welcome back!

Can I just say, It's fricking September? W H A T How is that even possible??

I would do anything to be able to say "I go back to school this week", trust me.. growing up isn't all that fun! Instead it's all "urgh I'm in work this week".

So seeing as some of you lucky people are going back this week I thought I'd put together my school essentials for those of you starting college or sixth form, just because most of them allow you to wear your own clothes! Just a quick reminder as well, don't over-do it on the whole 'IM FINALLY ALLOWED TO WEAR MAKEUP TO SCHOOL' thing because trust me, you'll be bored after about 2 days when you're having to wake up like 30/40 minutes earlier just to make yourself look presentable, me personally.. I'd rather spend those precious minutes in bed!

Liebster Award!

So 2 weeks ago I was awarded the Liebster Award by a lovely lady called Hera, have a read of her blog here - hellohera.com

This such exciting news for me, it gives people like me with small blogs a little recognition and it means a lot getting it just because I've only had my blog for a few months so thank you Hera! 1. I could sit and flick through vines for hours, they make me HOWL.

I think my first post was in May.. possibly!

I'd say abouttttt a month and a half, I didn't have the time to sit and write things down but now I've found myself getting into it so much more and I can't see myself taking a break for that long ever again.

Victoria's Secret spray - Coconut passion, if you haven't smelt it you are seriously missing out or my beloved Honey by Marc Jacobs.

Autumn OOTD #1

Well the weather today was pretty miserable for the duration of the day but that only means one thing in my head.. AUTUMN.

Anyway, I was only talking a few days ago to my friend about clothes for this season and how much I love going shopping for jumpers, boots and a new tartan scarf haha! 

I know I'm a tad behind on this whole 'coat trend' but I've wanted this since the days I set my eyes on it & I couldn't be more happier now that I finally have it in my wardrobe waaaahhhhh

The first two photos don't really do this top any justice! I don't think I've actually ever seen a top like this anywhere in England, I may have not been looking hard enough but so far.. still nothing! I bought this on my jolly holiday to Fuerteventura in June and I literally haven't had it off since I got home, it just goes with everything! Me personally, I love pairing it with my pair of Mom jeans from Topshop and my converse or some sandals!

*Autumn Days*: High Street Favorites #3

Hello there beauties!

Back again with the third installment of my high street favorites! (oooo) 

I've realized that this is starting to become a weekly ritual just because I spend so much time online and looking at clothes (how exciting is my life?!) I find myself choosing my favourite things from that week and putting them into my overly priced basket that just keeps getting bigger and BIGGER!

As it's coming to the end of Summer, how depressing.. I've starting looking at clothes that I can wear for Autumn.

Fun fact of the day: I LOVE AUTUMN. I love jumpers and wool coats and boots.

But because Summer isn't completely over, well hopefully.. This weeks favorites are a mix of both!

'Afternoon Tea'

So today I had the pleasure of visiting 'Hotel Chocolat' in Liverpool and it was absolutely adorable! I met my younger cousin Beth after work and went for a bit of shopping and food, I do love me a good girly day! We went to this lovely Italian restaurant and after that all we could think about was how much a good old cuppa would go down a treat! So she took me to Hotel Chocolat. Now, I've never actually had anything from there (until today), I may have basked in the smell while walking past but never the less I've heard nothing but good things about it so safe to say I was pretty damn exciteeeddd! After ordering we sat down at our table and WELL.. trust my cousin to fall off her chair, I don't think I've ever witnessed a more funnier fall in all of my life (definitely a had to be there moment)! 

So after controlling the tears and laughter the woman brought over wooden trays holding a small pot of milk, a pot of tea and a handle-less mug. The tea tasted so fresh and natural & I know this probably makes no sense, but it tasted really British?? Anyway, I'm sat there with my pinky's out, people watching and absolutely loving life. It was such a cute afternoon and I love spending time with my famalam!

I just thought I'd do a little post on how much I enjoyed the afternoon :)

If anybody hasn't ventured into a Hotel Chocolat before, DO IT, you'll love it & also, get a cuppa while you're there. You won't regret it!

A/W Wishlist

Its makes me sad to say but summer's nearly over *queue the tears*

BUT. That can only mean one thing.. Autumn & Winter and NEW CLOTHES!

(I just had to make that bigger for the emphasis!)

So I thought I'd do my first A/W Wishlist seems as all the high street companies are starting to bring their collections out, eeeeeep!! We all know what this means: over-sized coats, baggy jumpers, autumn colors and Christmas of course.

I decided to search online for a few bits and bobs that I could buy to start off my A/W wardrobe and well I wasn't disappointed.

OOTD: 20th Birthday!!

Soooo here's my birthday outfit(s) of the day!

Last week I done a post on my birthday wishlist featuring all clothes from Missguided (if you scroll down you'll be able to find it!) and I couldn't decide whether or not to go dressy or casual and seeing as I had 2 birthday nights out I thought I'd go casual 1 night and dressy the other.. 

So on my actual birthday I wore this yellow cami top which I bought from Bershka, unfortunately it was a store in Fuerteventura so I'm unsure whether or not they sell it here in the UK! along with some black skinny jeans from Primark and a pair of boot heels which I bought from a online seller! I loved this outfit because it was just so casual and laid back but also dressy at the same time. 

On the Saturday I went out for a meal with a few of my other friends and then into town, safe to say.. I had a ball! Like a lot of other girls I'm so un-organised when it comes to what I'm going to wear, so here's me running through town trying to find an outfit at half 5 in the evening.. baring in mind, I was supposed to be meeting them at 8! (oops)

In the end I bought this gorgeous jacket from Forever 21. I'm not normally one for white clothing but I've been dying for a blazer/jacket for so long and at £18 I couldn't pass on the opportunity! Sadly, I looked online for it but they only had it in red, so if you're a red sort of person here's the link!

After buying that I thought what am I supposed to wear this with, I'm awful at styling things with jackets!! After hours of looking I couldn't find a thing (which I was so disappointed with!). Usually there's always going to be something that catches your eye, but not this time :( 

I was in dyer need of some new heels so I thought why not some white ones to match my white jacket! It's safe to say I was a GIANT. If I stood next to my mum and dad they practically needed binoculars to look up at me, they were huge. I'll give it to the shoes, they didn't start to hurt my feet until the end of the night which was a bonus! I absolutely adore chunky heels like these because they're just so easy to wear either casually and dressy & they were only £25 which was a bargain *dancing emoji!*

The Perfect Summer Kimono: New Look Edition!

Hey guys!

Just a small post from me today, I recently went on shopping trip into Liverpool city center with my friend Becca and went into New Look. Now usually I walk straight past New Look because I think of it as a hit and miss shop, meaning that the majority of the time I go in, look in one section and walk back out because I cant find anything that I like! But oh no, this time was different! I went in there just on the off chance that they may have any kimono's for me and my friend & oh boy did they deliver! They had so many in different colors and designs, some with tassels, others with long or short sleeves, they were all gorgeous & I finally decided on this monochrome aztec printed one after a good 25 minutes of debating with myself!

I absolutely love it!

It was an absolute bargain as well, costing me just £24.99 - you can buy it Here if you wish! (take a look at the others as well while you're there!)

I wore this recently on a night out with a pair of black leggings and a black cropped cami top. I don't think you need to wear a lot of patterns or bright colors when wearing a kimono like this because of the bold print!

High Street Picks: Kylie Jenner

Recently I have been obsessed with Kylie Jenner, not in a creepy stalker-ish kid of way! I mean her fashion sense is so on point it's ridiculous. As well as her gorgeous sister Kendall they are both my favorite out of the Kardashian/Jenner clan!

So I thought I would search the high street and online stores for things that represent Kylie's style. From what I've gathered from her instagram photos she seems really into plaid shirts, 'boho' style clothing and stripes, and she also likes wearing a lot of black, which in my opinion really suits her!

First I found this feather fedora hat from Topshop which is £28, you can find it Here.

Kylie is such a hat person like me, she wears them in the day time to dress up a simple outfit or at night time with a leather jacket and smart suit!

So Kylie recently posted this photo on Instagram:

And as you can see if any of your follow her on instagram she loves wearing plaid shirts with a block coloured tshirt, musicians merchandise tshirts or a stripey crop top. I found a similar colored shirt from Topshop, you can find that Here. 

By looking at her sense of style she enjoys pairing simple outfits with bold accessories such as long coats, hats, necklaces and rings. When wearing rings she wears one on most fingers or sometimes 3/4 if she's wearing her Cartier rings. I found a few online that suit her style.

Especially if paired with a pair of black high waist jeans, leggins or a bodycon midi skirt. It is definitely on point with Kylies recent fashion.
