REVIEW:: Cara at Topshop!

So if like me you absolutely adore the beautiful Cara Delevingne you would've seen that she is now the new face for Topshop which I couldn't be more excited about, not because whenever I go into town now she will be plastered all over the windows of Topshop but because her style is definitely one of my favourites and it's forever changing which is why I think she's such a good person for this role. This collection features so many different types of clothes such as girly blouses and dresses to biker jackets and knee high leather boots! Her style changes all the time but keeps getting better and better. She makes a simple outfit look flawless and when she's got her gladrags on, girlllll she is smashing it! & don't even start me on those Victoria's Secret shows! (I could go on forever, no lie.)

Anyway! I thought I'd do a little post on my favourite pieces from the collection. Don't get me wrong some of these items are a little pricey and sadly I don't think they'll be making it into my wardrobe anytime soon but I can always dream, can't I?

So first, I fell in love with this adorable little blouse. When I first saw it I thought it'd not very 'Cara' until I saw the photo of her modelling it and she looks stunning in it (even though she is lying ridiculously awkward haha!) I love the double peter pan collar and the tightness around the wrists, like Cara on the photo I'd definitely pair this with a pair of high waisted leggings or jeans and some snazzy little heels or boots.

The second piece, it's safe to say I am IN LOVE. Like there's "oh I like that dress" and then there's "LOOK. AT. THAT. DRESS." that was one of them moments! It makes me sad to think that I can't afford to buy this dress or even justify paying that much money for something, even though it is ridiculously beautiful!

The embellishment is just so perfect and I love the tassles at the bottom of the dress, I think I just want this because Cara looks so good in it! If you're lucky enough to afford this, here's the link!

I thought I'd have a little geg at the shoes, and I'm not going to lie I wasn't too impressed *sad face* apart from this one pair & yet again, they're a little bit over my budget :( (silly topshop) but moving on.. they're still beautiful and definitely perfect for Winter! Especially if it plans on snowing again.

And Last but not least, we all know Topshop are famous for a good old fashioned pair of jeans and this collection is no exception! I love the design of these, with the whole zip detail going on at the top and also, they're in a good price range! (FINALLY!!) I think £40 isn't too bad, that's along the lines of some of their other jean prices.

BACK TO SCHOOL! High Street Favorites #5

Welcome back!

Can I just say, It's fricking September? W H A T How is that even possible??

I would do anything to be able to say "I go back to school this week", trust me.. growing up isn't all that fun! Instead it's all "urgh I'm in work this week".

So seeing as some of you lucky people are going back this week I thought I'd put together my school essentials for those of you starting college or sixth form, just because most of them allow you to wear your own clothes! Just a quick reminder as well, don't over-do it on the whole 'IM FINALLY ALLOWED TO WEAR MAKEUP TO SCHOOL' thing because trust me, you'll be bored after about 2 days when you're having to wake up like 30/40 minutes earlier just to make yourself look presentable, me personally.. I'd rather spend those precious minutes in bed!

Friendship Goes A Long Way..

Hellooo pals

This is more of a lifestyle post today just because I feel like writing on here helps me get a lot off my chest. Others enjoy writing in a diary or a journal or whatever but speaking to people on my blog helps me get answers instead of wondering to myself different possible answers, so..

Ever feel like you're slipping away from your friends? Or that you just don't matter to anyone? Do you feel like it's always YOU to make the effort with everybody else?

Well, I'm sort of feeling a bit like that now. Not with the one particular group of friends that I have, don't get me wrong if any of my friends are reading this right now please don't be offended. Anyway, recently I feel as if I'm basically by myself. I'm constantly in work and on my days off I don't wake up until the afternoon because of all those stupid late shifts which means I don't have the time to make any plans with my friends. Luckily for me I have the one friend to properly speak to, they know who they are because we're completely on the same wavelength. I love all my friends but it's just sometimes I seem to be the one to make the majority of the effort and I know everybody says that when you leave school and what not you'll soon see who your real friends are and do you know what? I have. I would die for my friends, as one of them said a few months ago, we're each others kids 'aunties', you know like you have that family friend that's classed as an Aunty, well that's us! 

I sometimes feel like it's just me to make the effort like when it comes to apologies to others, I say sorry first when it wasn't my fault to begin with. I suppose I just do this for an easy life really, you see I reaaaally hate hassle that just isn't relevant or life-changing. I thought I'd do a little advice post on what to do if you're currently in this situation or if you ever find yourself in my position in the future.

1. Be your own person - Don't change to make others happy. Don't feel as if you have to change your personality or looks to impress someone else, it won't be worth it in the end. If your 'friends' are your real friends, then they should accept you the way you are. 

2. Do what you want to do - I love doing my own thing! I love wearing what I feel comfortable in, I don't dress to impress other people, I don't dress for compliments and I certainly don't dress to impress boys. They're either going to like you for who you are or they're most definitely not worth it. 

3. Things will change - It's inevitable! Things are going to change, i'm slowly learning to accept this. I absolutely hate change! But the one thing that stays in the back of my mind is 'not everyone you lose is a loss'. We're all growing up and people change, your friends are going to get other friends and boyfriends and sometimes you just have to stop making the effort and see how long it takes for them to realize, by then you'll be moved on and those people won't be worth the effort anymore. But trust me, as soon as that one person annoys them or their boyfriend ends things they'll be straight back to you in a heartbeat and like me, you'll have to be the shoulder they need to cry on.

4. Always make sure you have someone to talk to - I'm glad that I have a few friends that I can speak to about different things. Different circles of friends is a good thing, it helps you see others from a different perspective. You may think that falling out or losing contact with your friends is the end of the world but sometimes some of your 'friends' are just a small chapter of your life that can be replaced later, I know that sounds pretty harsh but trust me if they're true friends they'll know when you're in need of a girly chat or some advice.

Some of this advice seems a little harsh but believe me, your friends are your friends for a reason. They know all your flaws and problems, even the ones you're ashamed to admit! They appreciate you for who you are and they'll love you no matter what. Communication is the key really, if you're trying your hardest and getting no response those people aren't worth your time. 

At the end of the day, you should be happy, you shouldn't feel upset and sad when it comes to thinking about your pals, they're your 'girls' for a reason. So to round this all off, I just wanna say a little thanks to my small group of friends who I don't see very often but when we get together one of us always ends up with their head down a toilet (me), or rolling around the floor in the Lloyds (Beth), or attracting complete freaks (Enya) and last but not least having a rap off in the middle of a club to Macklemore (Becca), I love ya gals and even though 2/4 of us have boyfriends nothing could ever change, even after a bottle of rose! <3

July Favourites 2014!

Joining in with the whole 'favourites' hype!

So if you don't know what a monthly favourite post is you've certainly been living under a rock for the past gazillion years! 

These are by far my favourite types of posts, I love reading all about the different things that people are using and it's seriously the best way to find out which product is the best, providing it comes from a good source of course.. This is my first favorites post anyway so apologies if I start to babble on, I get a littttttle bit carried away!

First I'll start with the beauty bits:

So recently I went to superdrug with my mumma! This is never a good idea for me, I'm the type of person to get caught up in the whole 3 for 2's and what not! Then I end up spending £££ at the till. 

Now I'm not normally one for skincare lotions and things like that but after watching Zoellas video where she mentioned Simple Skincare I thought I'd give some of their products a go. My skin has recently become quite bad on my face & it's the most depressing thing I've ever come across! I'm not really used to having spots and things like that so this was a huuuuuge shock!! So I picked up the Simple Skincare 'kind to skin purifying cleansing lotion' & it's made such a difference to my face, my skin feels so much softer and replenished and it has no artificial perfume or colour which is a big thing for me with having sensitive skin!

Next I ventured into the makeup section, which is my weakness (I love it really) and after my horrendous breakout I decided I needed a concealer that gave me more coverage! Now normally I use the 'Lasting Perfection Concealer' by The Collection which is my lifesaver on bad skin days!! But that just wasn't working for me this time and so I decided to change from a liquid concealer to a stick concealer & it was such a good decision!

I picked up the Rimmel 'Hide The Blemish' concealer, it's hands down my favourite one I have ever bought! It covers practically everything.. Dark circles, blemishes and redness! It only cost me £3.99 aswell and it lasts soooo long, I've had it for around 5-6 weeks now and I've used it near enough everyday & I'm only just coming to the end. I'd recommend this so much if you're looking for a flawless finish on your skin or a more even skin tone without wearing a hell of a lot of makeup!

Next I got this little beauty in a set called 'The Beauty Parade' by Benefit about a year ago and I've never used it until I was on a night out & realised that my concealer had faded and so had my eyeshadow, safe to say.. I was fuming! So I thought I'd try it out and oh lordyyyy it's so good, my makeup stayed on all night without even smudging. All you have to do is apply a few dots where you're putting your say concealer or eyeshadow and it's as simple as that! 

Now I'm not normally one for buying high end makeup, I prefer to find dupes or things that are just as good but I couldn't find anything that compared to this! I bought it while I holiday last month and got a little deal so it only cost me €22, which I think it about €17 maybe.. I could be wrong! But I absolutely love it, I bought it in the shade number 2 which is a very pale but flattering shade. I apply a few strokes of the brush underneath my eyes and on the tops of my cheeks, it adds so much light to your face and brightens your face in general. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it!

I always say to myself 'you should stick to what you know best' now I'm not saying you shouldn't try new things but me personally I just love having the same routine so I don't get muddled up or confused by new things! So my last beauty favourite is definitely my all time favourite makeup brush which is the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, this is by far one of the best investments I've ever made, not that it's pricey or anything (I think mine was £9.99 in Superdrug!) but I just mean you can get such a good wear out of it! By the looking at the picture you can probably tell it needs a good cleaning because I use it everyday, but I just absolutely love it & if you don't own one of these, seriously get off your tush and go buy one now!

Next onto the fashion part, because I work so much I never really have time to wear my own clothes as my days just consist of sleeping in and staying in the house in my pyjamas! So I thought I'd buy myself a pair of everyday shoes that will practically go with near enough everything I wear. I picked up these Nike Roshe Runs, you may not think they'd go with a lot of things but you'd be surprised! I recently wore these with a pair of denim shorts, a black cami top and my New Look kimono and I absolutely loved the outfit! They give any outfit a sort of laid back look and i'm all for that. Now these are a size 4 which according to Foot Asylum they're for juniors.. I'm not complaining because they were £25 cheaper than the 'adult' sizes but if you were wondering why you couldn't find a size 4 in the adults section it's because they're in the kids department!

My second fashion favorite of July is this t-shirt from River Island.. but I got it off Depop! Don't get me wrong, I love dressing up in heels and a dress and what not but there's nothing better than a slouchy t-shirt that you can just lounge around in, ever since this arrived I haven't had it off my back. I love these sort of tops because they're so easy to style and you can wear them with everything, me personally this is just a top to go with my trainers and leggings when I can't really be bothered making much of an effort! Sadly I don't think they're selling it anymore but you could probably buy it second hand like me for cheaper. 

Another winner from River Island are these adorable pastel earrings! I bought them a few weeks ago when I was just having a look through the shop and I fell in love with the colour. Sadly, one of the little diamontes have fell out around the edges but it's barely noticeable! They look really classic and vintage and add a little edge to an outfit. These cost me £5 and if you fancy them, get them here! 

My last fashion favourite of July is this little beaut of a clutch bag from none other than Zara! I nipped in (everyday) while I was on holiday last month because their sale was just UNREAL. I literally had no words for it. I saw this on the top shelf and it was the very last one, I know that sounds like the biggest cliche ever but I just fell in love with it and I couldn't help myself! I love how it just 'spruces' up a plain outfit, I recently paired it with some Mom jeans from Topshop and a stripey crop top from Stradivarius on a night out and I felt like it just tied the whole outfit together.

Birthday Wishlist: Miss Guided!

Hellooooo

Seeing as i'm turning 20 on Wednesday I thought I'd do a little post on a few different outfits I've been debating for my birthday and because I've been loving (stalking) miss guided's website recently I thought I'd put together a few little outfits I found on there that I could wear throughout the day as well as the night time!

My first one was this adorable little dress, I saw it and well, it's hard to know what the weather's going to be like next week here in England I mean one minute it's sweltering hot and the next it's raining, what the hell!?!? I also loved the fedora hat the model's wearing on the photo, and because I do love me a good hat I thought mine and this dress would be perfect along with some little boot heels or sandals!

So my second look is more for the day time I think (depending on the weather), but paired with some heels I could definitely wear this for the night. The shorts are so pretty and I fell in love with the pattern as soon as I saw them and the scallop hemmed top just goes so well. I bought a black choker online recently as well so I was thinking that along with some sandals & a little pouch bag!

This third one is probably my favorite outfit out of them all! Seems as I'm getting old(ish) I think this outfit is perfect, it's so vintage looking and classic with a little modern twist on it!

The colors are so summery and pastel is by far one of my favorite color trends this year! The skirt, well I fell in love as soon as I clicked onto it.. how can you not love the color and just everything about it?? I've been looking around for a statement necklace to go with this as well but so far I've had no luck :(

Finally, my last outfit well.. I thought it's definitely a night time one. I was looking at this dress a few weeks ago for a friends birthday but couldn't make my mind up whether I liked it or not. I thought I'd probably look like something from an Austin Powers movie..

Now I know that these type of shoes aren't everybody's cup of tea but I love them, I feel like Carrie Bradshaw from Sex In The City in them & I love it!
