MET Gala Ball, Best & Worst!

Welcome baaaaaack!
If any of you weren't lucky enough to catch the red carpet of the MET Gala Ball last night you would've missed out on drooling over some of THE most b-e-a-uuuutiful dresses I have ever laid eyes on! If I ever had a spare £25,000 (yes twenty five bleedin' grand!) I'd buy myself a ticket.

So I have to start with the power couples, beginning with none other than Kimye! How amazing does Kim look in this absolutely drop dead Roberto Cavalli number which is somewhat similar to Beyonce's Givenchy Haute Couture that she wore to the event three years ago, but they're both unbelieveable regardless! Even though Kanye is seen as a a not-so-nice person in the public eye I'd give a limb for a man to look at me like he does at Kim, it's so beautiful! He arrived in a black suit with tassled detail on the bottom hem looking proper dapper but his little lady stole the show from him in that dress.
VERDICT: BEST.

Now we can't forget none other than the 'King and Queen of the MET Ball' Mr & Mrs Carter. Holyyyyyy shiiiiizz Beyonce looked UNREAL in bedazzled see-through Givenchy masterpiece! Only Beyonce can arrive 2 hours fashionably late and still make everybody's jaws hit the floor. The simple hairstyle of a high pony and minimal make-up drew everybody's eyes to the dress. If I look that good at 33 I'll be high-fiving myself to the grave!
VERDICT: BEST

Rihanna never fails to shock people with her fashion choices and the ball this year was no exception. Last night she lived up to that reputation of hers as a 'fearless fashionista' in a canary yellow showstopper of a dress with a train that could probably cover a house. The dress took a reported 2 years to make and was designed by Chinese designer Guo Pei.
After scrolling through hundreds of meme's on Twitter and Facebook of her dress being made into things like pasty's I had to attempt to calm myself after my mum said she looks like a 'giant omelette'.
Verdict: WORST

Another lovely lady who never fails to amaze me is J-Lo. My ultimate girl crush. At 45 years old she is possibly one of the hottest women on the planet and last night she did not disappoint in this Versace gown. The ruby colored dress gave her the chance to show off her naked boot-ay thanks to a big hole on the side. The dress fitted in with the theme of the night thanks to strategically placed embellishments covering all her lady bits looking like she was wearing a fire breathing dragon. In the words of Mika our J-Lo's got 'curves in all the right places' and she's never looked better!
VERDICT: BEST.

Okay, so normally I'm all for expressing your own style and I love anyone who is confident enough to dress however they want but Katy Perry last night was a serious disappointment. Usually she looks nothing less than perfect on red carpet events but I just wasn't feeling the whole graffiti vibe she was going for as well as the long matching gloves and matching spray can purse. This Moschino statement dress failed to impress me unfortunately.
VERDICT: WORST.

Being the model of the moment I expected better from Kendall Jenner, I'm not gonna lie now.. I definitely think her emerald Calvin Klein dress was a down-grade to her stunning Topshop gown that she rocked last year. I'm loving the little side-boob action she's got going on and the lace up detail at the side but the dress just didn't do it for me. Although I look her simple makeup and sleek hairstyle.
VERDICT: WORST.

Now for my love Gigi Hadid. She is possibly one of the most naturally stunning girls I think I've ever seen. Last night she stunned everyone in this gorgeous rose-embellished dress designed by Diane von Furstenberg with a naughty little thigh-high slit and strappy pointed-toe heels. Hers simple and elegant look is definitely top of my 'best dressed' list.
VERDICT: BEST.

Now last but not least I have to say.. this is my personal 'worst dressed' of the night. Sorry Anne Hathaway. Is it just me that think she looks like a dodgy sorta fashionable-ish Jedi? Her Ralph Lauren dress made from a metallic fabric was definitely a no-go for me, especially with the conjoint hood that made it even worse (sorry not sorry).
VERDICT: WORST.

Let me know in the comments who was your best and worst dress last night!

Autumn Travels!

If you're getting your popcorn out for a post about fashion put it away darling because I'm in the mood for a little chat haha!
I thought I'd just do a quick update on what's been happening in the past few weeks!
So the weekend just gone I went to visit my pal Sam (hey Sam!!) in Edinburgh and ohhhh my FRICKING god if you haven't been before like me, GO. It's up there in the top 5 picturesque cities i've ever been to, especially in the winter with the pink skies and frosty wind, it's just beautiful! They have little dainty shops which sell the most adorable antique jewellery and keepsakes which were just right up my street! And.. what with me being the big tartan lover than I am, I was in heaven haha! There was at least 3 or 4 tartan or cashmere shops on every row down the mile as well as about a gazillion whisky shops! Of course I picked myself up a box of traditional Scottish shortbread biscuits as well.
(you could say that it was just all in all a good weekend!)
And my favourite photo from the whole trip.. I made it my mission to get a photo with a man in a kilt & did I succeed? Why yes, with a little help from my friend Jade!

2 days after I returned home from Scotland I got a phone call off my cousin asking if I wanted to go down to London for the day while he had an audition, I couldn't say no to a little Oxford Streret shopping on my day off now could I! So half 7 in the morning we hopped on our coach for the brutal 6 hour journey down to London, if only you could've saw the two of us.. fast asleep with our heads back, catching flies haha! I'm writing this blog post waiting for the coach back now, and I couldn't even begin to tell you all how much I'm dreading it. So anyway, I'm always partial to a little shop here and there and with payday only 2 days away I thought whyyyyy the hell not!?!? Come at me Victoria's Secret!! And I also finally got to experience the beauty that is 'Liberty of London', I've walked past there so many times before but I've never actually went in but i had a little time to kill so I dragged my cousin in and we had a look round! I didn't actually realise how expensive half the things in there was but I treated myself and seeing as it's Christmas I picked up a little decoration for my tree as a reminder of the day!

I would definitely recommend going at this time of the year especially if you're lacking a little with the Christmas spirit! All the lights made me feel so festive and it just got me even more excited! The lights on Regent Street, Oxford Street and Carnaby Street looked amazing and I couldn't even begin to tell you how magical Selfridges looked.

The following week I returned to London with an exciting trip to the Warner Brothers Studios for a tour of the Harry Potter set! And my oh my it was amazing, my childhood was brought to life right before my eyes and I couldn't have been more happy. Don't get me wrong it sort of, well I wouldn't say ruined but the films sort of lost that spark about them now that I know everything wasn't as magical as it seemed on screen haha, but i'd definitely recommend it if you're a huge Harry Potter geek like me! Here's a little inside to the tour, I went whilst it was Christmas time and the Great Hall was decorated with holly reefs, trees, plastic turkeys on the tables and a flaming Christmas pudding. So if you're planning on going in the next few days/weeks you'll see the beauty that is Hogwarts in the snow!

brace yourselves..

AMAZING ISNT IT??
My childhood brought to life!

That's all for this post anyway, I hope you've enjoyed it! Keep an eye out for more Christmassy posts coming soon, including a homemade Nutella hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows created by yours truly!

Bye now! Xxx

p.s. I don't know why the fonts are different on this post, my computers going a little cray cray!

Winter Waves!

curls courtesy of the - Remington Silk Curling Wand! << BUY IT HERE

Ello! Ello! Ello!
On a recent shopping trip to Boots I picked up a new curling wand for my hair. Now, I'm not really one for doing much to my hair, I don't have the patience to sit in front of the mirror for hours curling piece by piece and I've never actually used a wand on my hair before but oh my lorrrrrrrd have I been missing out haha!
They're so easy to use and literally take around 10 minutes to make you look like a completely different person. I felt like Beyonce in Austin Powers with a huge afro.. obviously mine wasn't as big as hers but you feel me!

So I thought I'd do a step by step to show you how I went from my natural boring hair to these gorgeous effortless waves, let's go shall we..

1. First, pull all your hair back into a tight-ish pony at the back of your head.
2. Start by sectioning your hair into smaller pieces.
3. Then take each part and wrap it round the wand, hold it there for around 10-15 second! NOTE: not too long though, you don't wanna end up like that girl whose hair fell off!!
4. Keep repeating this until all the pony is curled.
5. Once all your hair is curled, take the bobble out and run your fingers through your hair.
(don't be too intense with this step, you don't wanna end up with an afro!)
6. When you're happy with how the curls look spray them with hairspray and scrunch your hair up to make sure the curls stay in!
(don't worry if they're really tight right now, they'll drop throughout the day!)
7. Finally, style them how you wish!

(this was later on in the day so the curls had dropped!)

And you've got your finished product! I loooooove having curly hair, it makes me look so much older and I think it really adds something to your look even though it only took 10 minutes! There's just something about girls who can work the 'effortless' look, if you're one of those girls.. I ENVY YOU. I prefer the looser waves rather than the tight curly one, I don't really enjoy looking like a poodle!

Let me know if you enjoyed this and I may do more in the future, I'm thinking an everyday make-up look to come soon or an autumnal make-up post. ANYWAAAAAY.. throw a comment my way if you liked this!

#ZoellaBeauty

Well well well.. I know I'm a little behind on the bandwagon but holy jesus.. how amazing is the Zoella Beauty range! Now, I've watched practically every single one of Zoes videos from the beginning to end, I've grown to love her and I couldn't be happier for one person than what I am for her! As soon as I heard she was releasing new products I was itching to get my hands on them.
Recently, I went into my local Superdrug here in Liverpool to find empty shelves?? WHAT? safe to say I was disappointed but ridiculously happy for her! So I opted for the online option.
(praise Jesus, Mary and Joseph for Feel Unique and Superdrug online!)

I thought I'd buy a few little bits and bobs from the range and see if they lived up to my expectations and I'm over the moon to say that they did! I bought the candle and the body fragrance just because I do love a good candle (who doesn't?) and the perfume smelt amazing! I'm not normally one for lotions and bath thingymajigs thanks to my sensitive skin, so I opted for the products I'd probably use the most. I honestly would recommend these for anyone even if it's for yourself or to give as gifts, they make adorable little stocking fillers for Christmas as well..
(a big thanks to my cousin Beth for lending her camera!)

Get yourself some treats Here and Here, but be quick because they're selling out fast!

Let me know if you've bought anything from the #ZoellaBeauty range!

The Perfect Winter Boots!

First of all, apologies for the lack of posts recently..
Secondly, ITS FINALLY BECOMING WINTER!!
I don't know if any of you can see how excited I am through this post by the amount of capital letters and exclamation points I'll probably be using but I am seriously so happy that the temperatures dropping, the hats and scarfs and coming out and soon.. the Christmas markets will be here! HALLELUJAH :D

My favourite thing to change around autumn/winter is the fashion.. now we all need good sturdy pair of shoes that aren't going to send us flying! And luckily for you all, I've found them in none other than Primark for a good old £15! They are seriously so comfy and also, they give a little bit of height and best of all you can wear them in the day time as well as the night time.. what more could you want? heelllooooo..

I'd say the only bad thing is that they may not be waterproof but who needs dry toes when you've got slipper socks to throw on under them? JOKES.
So, all joking aside.. I bought them recently so they should still have them in stock!

Happy shopping! Let me know what your go to shoes are for the winter.

Short and sweet post for you today..
For some of you more my age it might be time for you to go back to uni and we all know what that means.. NEW CLOTHES (eep)
Lucky yous!!

Unfortunately for me I don't go to uni so I don't get the perks of the NUS card, student lock ins and an almighty student loan, I don't know whether to cry now or later. But for those of you that have just got their loans, don't buy books.. buy clothes haha! Do it for the people like me that have to slave away for £5 something an hour (I weep)
So I thought I'd base this weeks high street favorites on a few things I've been looking at over the past few days!

Enjoyyyyy....

Turtle Neck Striped Top - River Island
Leather Jacket - Miss Selfridge
Box Backpack - New Look
Grey Crop Top - Topshop
Flatform Boots - Bank
High Waisted Jeans - ASOS
Faux Fur Hat - New Look

Hope these help you with an idea into what your want your uni wardrobe to include!
Happy shopping sweeties..

My Autumn Staples 2014

Hello again beautifuls!
Wellllll guess who's back! This time with my autumn staples for this year. This post was inspired by a recent shopping spree (oopsy) when I went it into Liverpool City Centre with my cousin. I may of slightly ventured into the shops on Church Street and picked up a few things for my a/w wardrobe! eeeepp

My first staple is definitely polar necks. Now, I don't mean the polar necks that are wrinkled around your neck and come up to your chin. I bought this gorgeous ribbed striped top from Forever 21 for a wonder £10.50 & I absolutely love it! It's slightly cropped so I've decided on wearing it like the model >> with some high waist black jeans or maybe a black skater skirt, black tights and a pair of ballet pumps. I think this style of top is going to be huge this season, I mean you can never have enough stripey tops and polar necks in your life can you!?
If you want this for your a/w wardrobe, get it - Here.

My next staple has got to be a good old sturdy pair of boots! I've been searching the high street for a proper pair that won't break the second I step out the door and also ones that will go with practically everything! I come across these little beauties from New Look, sadly I haven't bought them yet but come my next pay day they'll be mine *cue the evil laugh*
Now they are plain, but I can definitely see them bringing an outfit together! If you fancy buying them for a delightful £29.99, get them - Here!

Well you're going to need a new bag for the new season, it's only right! I find myself around autumn/winter looking at over-sized slouchy bags to go with my baggy top, skinny jeans and my 'I don't care, I'm cosey' type of look. It's hard to find a bag that you won't get annoyed carrying round which is the case with most bags :(
Which is why I'm still searching for the perfect one. Don't you worry though, oh no! I've got my eye on what I think is a perfect bag for autumn/winter and that is this b-e-a-utiful tan bag courtesy of River Island! The best thing is, it's only £32, and for me.. that's a bargain! If you're searching for a new bag and want this one, get it - Here!

If you don't own a baggy jumper to help you through the cold months then you're doing this whole thing wrong! Now it is hard to find one that won't irritate you and make you want to pull your birthday suit off which is why I always go for a ribbed knitted jumper that won't make me itch! I've been looking at this one for a few days now and decided that it's definitely one for my winter wardrobe. The color is on point and it would go so effortlessly with a pair of black skinny jeans and those black boots!
(You'll start to see a theme in my posts that through winter I loves me my black skinnies!)
Where else are you going to find a good quality jumper that won't cost you an arm and a leg, why.. none other than Topshop! Get this jumper Here for £38 :)

Last but not certainly not least, probably my favorite part of an autumn outfit.. a good old dark lipstick to tie it all together! I've currently been loving 'Twig' by MAC (I wrote a review here if you'd like to have a nose) but it's not dark enough for my liking! Last year my favorite lipstick for this season was probably 'The Damned' or 'Inhibition' by Topshop so if I fail to find one that matches those, they'll be getting re-purchased for this year! Now normally I don't really suit berry type of colors and red-ish tones but I'm trying my hardest to step out of my comfort zone but it's definitely proving more difficult than I thought! My mum always says.. 'stick to what you know'.

Let me know your autumn/winter staples below!

XOXO: High Street Favorites #6

Hi againnnnnn
Apologies for the lack of posts but I have been a tad busy!
Sadly, I left my work *sad face* but this means on wards and upwards.. and I really can't wait. Anyway, onto the 6th installment (I think 6th) of my high street favorites yaaaay!
Now that I have a whole week off I'm planning on spending the majority of that spooning my quilt with some sweets, a laptop, a unhealthy amount of Chuck Bass and a million online shopping baskets full of new clothes - I literally couldn't be in a happier place!

Leather Bag - ASOS
Tartan Scarf - River Island
Orange Wrap Crop Top - New Look
Ripped Jamie Jeans - Topshop
Floral Purse - River Island
Yellow Clutch - Vintage Styler
Pink Stone Earrings - Topshop
Mint and Cream Earrings - Vintage Styler

I definitely think accessories are going to be the biggest part of a Autumn/Winter outfit this year, especially earrings like these and bright clutches like this gorgeous one from Lydia Bright's collection!

Let me know your favorite a/w accessories!

REVIEW:: Cara at Topshop!

I need to get this out..
EEEEP!!
okay.
So if like me you absolutely adore the beautiful Cara Delevingne you would've seen that she is now the new face for Topshop which I couldn't be more excited about, not because whenever I go into town now she will be plastered all over the windows of Topshop but because her style is definitely one of my favourites and it's forever changing which is why I think she's such a good person for this role. This collection features so many different types of clothes such as girly blouses and dresses to biker jackets and knee high leather boots! Her style changes all the time but keeps getting better and better. She makes a simple outfit look flawless and when she's got her gladrags on, girlllll she is smashing it! & don't even start me on those Victoria's Secret shows! (I could go on forever, no lie.)

Had to throw that little photo in!

Anyway! I thought I'd do a little post on my favourite pieces from the collection. Don't get me wrong some of these items are a little pricey and sadly I don't think they'll be making it into my wardrobe anytime soon but I can always dream, can't I?

So first, I fell in love with this adorable little blouse. When I first saw it I thought it'd not very 'Cara' until I saw the photo of her modelling it and she looks stunning in it (even though she is lying ridiculously awkward haha!) I love the double peter pan collar and the tightness around the wrists, like Cara on the photo I'd definitely pair this with a pair of high waisted leggings or jeans and some snazzy little heels or boots.

The second piece, it's safe to say I am IN LOVE. Like there's "oh I like that dress" and then there's "LOOK. AT. THAT. DRESS." that was one of them moments! It makes me sad to think that I can't afford to buy this dress or even justify paying that much money for something, even though it is ridiculously beautiful!

The embellishment is just so perfect and I love the tassles at the bottom of the dress, I think I just want this because Cara looks so good in it! If you're lucky enough to afford this, here's the link!

I thought I'd have a little geg at the shoes, and I'm not going to lie I wasn't too impressed *sad face* apart from this one pair & yet again, they're a little bit over my budget :( (silly topshop) but moving on.. they're still beautiful and definitely perfect for Winter! Especially if it plans on snowing again.
Get them for yourself Here!

And Last but not least, we all know Topshop are famous for a good old fashioned pair of jeans and this collection is no exception! I love the design of these, with the whole zip detail going on at the top and also, they're in a good price range! (FINALLY!!) I think £40 isn't too bad, that's along the lines of some of their other jean prices.
And, as you can see.. these go so well with the blouse I wrote about before!

Let me know what your favourite pieces are from this collection!

Bye now! xxx

Liebster Award!

Hellooo
So 2 weeks ago I was awarded the Liebster Award by a lovely lady called Hera, have a read of her blog here - hellohera.com
This such exciting news for me, it gives people like me with small blogs a little recognition and it means a lot getting it just because I've only had my blog for a few months so thank you Hera! But seeing as these days blogs have thousands of readers I thought I'd nominate my favorite blogs at the mo, even if they've already received it before they deserve the recognition in my eyes!

So from what I've learnt "Liebster" is a German word and means "Sweetheart", "Darling" and Beloved". It also means Boyfriend but I'll leave that one out.. So anyway, this award is a lovely little gesture to give small blogs the recognition that they deserve!
So the rules are:
1. Post the award on your blog
2. Thank the blogger who awarded you and provide a link to their blog
3. Write 11 random facts about yourself
4. Nominate 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers
5. Answer the 11 questions that were asked by the blogger who gave you the award
5. Ask 11 questions to those who you nominate

So here goes!
11 random facts about me

1. I could sit and flick through vines for hours, they make me HOWL.
2. My current favourite lipstick is Twig by MAC
3. I have 1 sister.
4. I work in a pub, oh what an exciting life I lead.
5. I'm hoping to become a sign language interpreter.
6. My favourite song at the moment issss.. either, 'I'm not the only one' by Sam Smith (or basically every song by him) or 'Overdrive' by Gecko
7. I've never been to a festival but I love concerts!
8. I have a really bad obsession with Kylie Jenner, she is just amazing!
9. I love boybands, like, literally love them.
10. If I have anything with beans on, I drain the bean juice and have that instead because it's so much nicer!
11. Everybody thinks I'm strange for doing this but I love eating and drinking weird things, I loooove dipping my quavers in a glass of coke or putting strawberry yoghurt on my skips and lastly mixing coke with fanta! All I say is.. don't knock it until you try it!

So that's my 11 random facts about myself all ticked off, next there's the questions from Hera!

1. What was the last thing you ate?
A lasagna and salad for my tea!

2. Long or short nails?
Long, every time!

7. How long have you been blogging for?
I think my first post was in May.. possibly!

8. How long was your longest break from blogging? hours? days? etc
I'd say abouttttt a month and a half, I didn't have the time to sit and write things down but now I've found myself getting into it so much more and I can't see myself taking a break for that long ever again.

9. What colour is your hair?

10. Favourite scent/smell?

8. If you could travel back in time, where are your top 3 places that you'd like to visit and why?
9. How would you describe your fashion style?
10. Biggest pet peeve?
11. Favorite season?

I got a bit tired near the end and couldn't think of any more questions haha!
So I find it really hard to look for blogs that don't have a lot of followers because the ones I come across are absolutely brilliant and have a sh*t loads of followers haha, maybe I'm not looking hard enough. But I thought I'd post some blogs that I'm currently loving and maybe you could give them a read? I'm sure they'd appreciate it! I don't know if they've been given the Liebster Award before but if not, HERE YOU GO!!

So go and give those a read!
